Changes will be happening to Poole Quay in the very near future regarding the facilities that we have to offer. In the meantime John Binder the Berthing Officer and his team, as always, continue to give a warm welcome to locals and guests from all over the world.

The Town Quay Berthing Office is situated on the Quay. Look for the bespoke floating facilities office and security centre (on the water ) opposite Dolphin Quays in the heart of Poole Quay. Modern showers and toilets facilities are available. The Haven has a capacity for 100 visiting boats of up to 15 metres in length on pontoon berths with water and electricity available. Garbage, waste oil and pump-out facilities are in place.

Harbour Dues are payable by all resident and visiting craft in Poole.

Poole Harbour Safety Regulations

In order to allow all harbour users to enjoy the water safely, to minimise conflict and to protect the rich variety of wildlife, the Harbour has been zoned for various activities. Please respect the Quiet Areas where the speed limit is 6 knots.

Your attention is drawn to the following summary of the Byelaws, which are enforced for your safety.

Safe Navigation:

You must navigate with care throughout the Harbour. Try and stay clear of the Main Shipping Channels when occupied by a large Vessel.

Speed Limit:

There is a speed limit of 10 knots throughout, except in the Quiet Areas, Little Channel and Holes Bay where the speed limit is 6 knots.

Water Skiing:

May only take place in the area designated to the north of the Arne Peninsula. Launch at Rockley or Cobbs Quay. Harbour Masters Permit required.

Personal Water Craft: (Jet Ski's)

Use of PWC in excess of the speed limit is allowed only in the designated area to the north of Brownsea Island. Otherwise you must obey the speed limits, Harbour Master's Permit required.

Harbour Entrance:

This is a potentially hazardous area. Please take great care. Use your engine if you have one fitted.

Watersports:

The use of Personal Watercraft is allowed within a designated area of the harbour

north of Brownsea Island, but private jet skiing is actively discouraged off the main beaches.

Look in the MacMillan Reeds Nautical Almanac or obtain a zoning map avaialble from the Poole Harbour Commissioner.

Harbour Masters Permit required - daily - weekly - monthly- annuall are available (Third Party Insurance is strongly advised!)

A jet skiing concessionaire operates from Sandbanks.

There is a Public Slipway at Baiter Park

High Season - The cost is approximately £8 for boat launching and car parking

After 14:30pm the cost is £6
