Sandbanks Hotel

On one side of the hotel, there is direct access to Sandbanks' Blue Flag beach with safe swimming in the sea and seven miles of golden sands with views of Old Harry Rocks, Poole and Bournemouth Bay round to Hengistbury Head and across to the Isle of Wight. On the other side there are views of Brownsea Island and the Purbecks across the natural bay of Poole Harbour. Poole Harbour's shallow waters are a magnet, drawing water sports experts and beginners from afar and is the ideal base for our very own Watersports Academy. With 108 guest rooms, many with sea or harbour views and balcony, the Sandbanks Hotel suits a wide range of guests, whether for short breaks, holidays, business meetings or special events.

Although particularly family-friendly, the hotel’s layout allows everyone space to enjoy their visit in their own way. Open to non-residents, many locals often drop by for a drink on the terrace or savour the opportunity to relax with a delicious meal in The Seaview Restaurant.

Poole Pottery

On the ground floor you can watch several skilled artists at work.

Alan White, our Master Potter, can be seen at his wheel throwing clay and creating unique, but classic shapes. Alan has appeared on TV many times and has been associated with Poole for over 40 years. His designs and shapes are sought after by collectors worldwide.

Jane Brewer, Nikki Massarella and Lorna Whitmarsh are three of our designers and artists. You can see Jane, Nikki and Lorna at work decorating pieces of Poole Pottery. As well as helping to design new collections, they also decorate one off pieces which are available for sale in the shop on The Quay. These one off pieces are highly sought after by collectors.
